The great trail of the Swiss Alps, the X-Alpine will make you discover the most beautiful viewpoints of the region, accumulating a positive elevation gain of 9,300 m. This route is decidedly alpine and represents a real challenge for experienced trail runners.
Departure from Verbier, first ascent and crossing on the ridges overlooking the resort and descent to Sembrancher, from there the route wanders through some small mountain villages to Champex-lac. Then departure for the Orny hut, which marks the highest point of the race (2826m) in a glacial atmosphere. The race continues passing through La Fouly, the magnificent Fenêtres Lakes, the legendary Great St. Bernard Pass, the Chevaux Pass, and the Mille Pass. The passage at the majestic Panossière site and its suspension bridge completes the beauty of the race. You will then be right next to the Grand Combin, which will tower over you at 4314m. The famous 1200m wall remains to be climbed before descending to the finish line in Verbier.
