The great trail of the Swiss Alps, the X-Alpine will make you discover the most beautiful viewpoints of the region by cumulating a positive height difference of 9'300m. This new route is resolutely alpine and is a real challenge for experienced trailers.
Departure from Verbier, first climb and traverse over the ridges overlooking the resort and descent to Sembrancher, from where the route wanders through a number of small mountain villages to Champex-lac. Then it’s off to the Orny hut, the highest point of the route (2826m) in a glacial setting. The route continues via La Fouly, the sumptuous Lac Fenêtres, the legendary Col du Gd St-Bernard, the Col des Chevaux and the Col de Mille. The majestic Panossière site and its suspension bridge complete the beauty of the route. You’ll then be right next to the Grand Combin, towering above you at 4314m. All that remains is to climb the famous 1200m wall before descending to the finish line in Verbier.
