Two important mountaineering figures have made their mark in the Pays du St-Bernard: Michel Darbellay, the first solo winner of the Eiger North Face, and Jean Troillet, who climbed 10 peaks over 8,000 m without oxygen and who still lives in La Fouly.

The Champex-Lac – La Fouly Crossing
The eastern part of the Mont-Blanc massif, on Swiss territory, offers you a magnificent wild crossing. Sometimes mineral, sometimes glacial. Raoul Crettenand, mountain guide, offers you 5 memorable days on this crossing in the heart of the Saint-Bernard country. If the first 2 days take place in a region well known to mountaineers, the last 3 days will have as strong points, to be wild in the middle of beautiful summits like the Aiguille d’Argentière and the Dolent.
