Here is a small tour to familiarize yourself with the gravel roads and paths of the region.
This itinerary starts from the dairy of Orsières in order to enjoy the local products and a good raclette at the arrival.

Directions
From the dairy, join the main road and go north then quickly turn left towards Chamoille d’Orsières.
In Chamoille, turn right to reach the hamlet of La Rosière.
At La Rosière pass the chapel and take the secondary road that goes up and then continues flat to the village of Reppaz.
Rejoin the cantonal road and take the south road in the direction of Commeire. In a big curve on the left, leave the road on the right to take the bisse. Be careful with pedestrians who have priority! After the torrent, continue on the dirt road to Rive-Haute and then pass under the international road to go down to the hamlet of Les Moulins. Then go up to the north of the hamlet of Fornex to go down into the forest of Montatuay.
Pass under the penstock on the left to reach Somlaproz. Take the road to Champex for 400 meters and then the road to Valpilière on the right.
Continue above the village of Orsières. After the farm on your left, turn left (be careful at the crossroads) to go up slightly for 200 meters and then right downhill to the entrance of the village of Orsières. Turn left on the cantonal road to reach the international road and the dairy.
Getting there
Exit the highway in Martigny at the 22-Gd-St-Bernard interchange. Take the right lane to follow the E27 road towards Chamonix/Gd-St-Bernard/Verbier/Martigny-Expo. At the exit of the Martigny bypass tunnel, take the direction Gd-St-Bernard/Italie, then leave the main road just before Orsières by turning 180° in the roundabout to reach the dairy.
Parking spaces are available at the back of the dairy if you wish to leave your vehicle for the day.
Possibility to arrive by train from Martigny and to go down 1km from the station to reach the dairy.
