Here is a proposal for a picturesque walk through Liddes and its hamlets. It retraces the tour that Marie Darbellay-Vaudan made from 1928 to 1938. If you are tired, you can take the TMR bus halfway to Rive-Haute and join Liddes… and finish the tour another day! A booklet with a commentary of this walking route, explanations for each locality, annexes relating life in those days is on sale at the tourist office for CHF 6.
Getting there
Exit the motorway at Martigny.
Follow the direction Grand-Saint-Bernard to Liddes.
Parking spaces are free of charge
Take the train to Orsières and then the bus to Liddes.
