The Toules dam is located in the Entremont valley; its reservoir is supplied with water by three vectors: the Entremont Dranse, three water intakes, those of Allèves, Croix and Valsorey and nine glaciers.

Les Toules is the first arch-dome dam in Switzerland. Its construction began in 1960 and was completed in 1964.

Since 2019, the dam has been hosting a world first with a floating alpine solar park. “This is a demonstration project consisting of 36 floating structures supporting 2240 m2 of bifacial panels. This will produce 800,000 kWh per year, the equivalent of the consumption of 227 households. Find all the details on www.solaireflottant-lestoules.ch.
