Directions
First go up the ski slope “Petite Breya” then continue straight on the road. After a long flat section, take the summer road on the right which leads to the Relais d’Arpette. Climb the valley to the vegetation limit where the slopes become a bit steeper. The pass is almost always visible. Pass to the left of “La Barme” at point 2144 then to the left of the moraine at point 2370 (Fenêtre d’Arpette to the right) and continue up to the pass. It is possible to use the Breya chairlift and descend by the toboggan run to save about 1 hour of ascent.
Getting there
Exit the highway at Martigny. Follow the direction Grand-Saint-Bernard then exit the main road at Orsières and follow Champex-Lac.
It is also possible to exit the main road at Bovernier and pass through the Valettes but the road is narrow and very winding.
Large free parking at the foot of the chairlift
Take the train to Orsières then the bus to Champex-télé.
