Nestled at an altitude of nearly 1,960 metres, high above the village of Bourg-Saint-Pierre, in the wilds of the Combe de l’A nature reserve, facing the Vélan and the Grand Combin, the Champlong Mountain Lodge is a true haven of peace. It welcomes hikers, depending on their preferences, for a meal, a coffee or an overnight stay. The old stables, carefully renovated to preserve the built heritage, now house a kitchen opening onto a cosy dining room, a relaxation and reading area, a play area for children, and a dormitory.
It can only be reached on foot (or by bike). Although it does not appear on the list of marked trails or on the list of well-known routes that might guide walkers to it, the gîte is nevertheless accessible to all. From Liddes, you will need to walk (or cycle) for around 2 hours, passing through La Niord and finally heading towards Les Arpalles (follow the GITE signs). You can also set off from Bourg-Saint-Pierre via the Toules dam.
We offer drinks and light refreshments (local produce). It is also possible to stay overnight (20 beds) by reservation only.
Open only in summer from 27 June to 13 September 2026 (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
