Day 7: (Rifugio Elena - La Fouly (Part 1)), Champex - Relais d 'Arpette (Part 2)
After the hike from Rifugio Elena to La Fouly (Stage 7 Part 1), we took the bus to Champex.
From the picturesque Champex Lake, we now hike about 2 kilometers mostly alongside a bisse (historic irrigation canal) up to our daily destination Relais d ‘Arpette (1,688 m).

To keep to our schedule, we cheat from La Fouly to Champex: we use the public but expensive Swiss bus service. This also allows us to stop for a coffee break in the small town of Orsiere. Around 5:00 p.m., the bus then takes us to the traditional resort Champex (1,466 m). At the picturesque lake we continue our hike. We hike two kilometers mostly alongside a bisse (historic irrigation canal) up to our daily destination. The Relais d ‘Arpette (1,688 m) is a comfortable hiking hotel but also offers dormitories for backpackers and mountain bikers. Showers etc. are excellent, and in the evening a solid Swiss menu is offered to all (main dish: cheese fondue, alternatively venison roast). We have really been very well received in Switzerland today.
