The villages

This tour takes you to discover many villages in the comune of Orsières.

Starting from the main village of the same name, you will discover the 2 banks of the Dranse, first on the east coast near Val de Vagnes then on the west coast, in the foothills of Catogne, below the resort of Champex.

Directions

Starting from Orsières (890m), a sporty climb will take you through the villages of Rive-Haute and Commeire, to the highest point of the route at Dzondénaz (1,520m). From there, a 10km descent will allow you to visit the common ovens in the villages of Reppaz, La Rosière and Chamoille. From La Douay, the route passes on the other bank, to reach the villages of La Garde and Soulalex, and finally down to Som-la-Proz and then Orsières.

Getting there

Exit the motorway at Martigny.

Follow the direction Grand-Saint-Bernard then leave the main road at Orsières.

You can park at the Orsières train station.
