This bisse is also called bisse de Champex. It seems to date from the 15th century. It feeds the lake of Champex from the Val d'Arpette.

At the end of the ascent, stop at the Relais d’Arpette, a sumptuous setting with a magnificent terrace to quench your thirst, eat local food or taste an excellent blueberry tart, a local specialty!

Directions

Park your car on the large free square in front of the chairlift. Drive along the start of the chairlift to the right and then to the right again, following the signs. Pass under the ski lift and go back into the forest to enjoy the coolness of the place and a magnificent view of the Dents du Midi! After 1 hour of ascent, you reach the valley of Arpette. Don’t forget to taste the famous blueberry tart at the restaurant “Le Relais d’Arpette”. Count 1:30 to make the round trip.

Getting there

Exit the motorway at Martigny.

Follow the direction Grand-Saint-Bernard to Somlaproz.

Take the direction of Champex then, go straight on.

Free parking at the departure of the chairlift

Take the train to Orsières and then the bus to Champex-télé.
