Where can children go sledging?
The Breya run in Champex-Lac is 6 km long with 700 m of descent; a run takes an hour on average and is recommended from age 6. For the youngest and less experienced, the Petite-Combe run in La Fouly offers an introduction over 0.6 km.
Where can children learn to ski?
The Lorette ski lift at the entrance to Bourg-St-Pierre lets young and old make their first runs on skis. In addition, Swiss ski schools are present in Champex-Lac and La Fouly.
Can you ice skate on Lake Champex?
Yes, when conditions allow: the flat surface of the frozen lake, in a setting nicknamed “little Canada”, offers a natural ice rink about 70 metres wide and 150 metres long. An artificial ice rink is also available in Sembrancher.
What can children do in bad weather?
The heated indoor pool in Bourg-St-Pierre lets you relax whatever the weather; swimming and aqua-fitness classes are also held there. You can also visit the Champex-Lac artillery fort, a fortress hidden under the Alps (check before you visit).
