Daniel Yule – Slalom
A resident of La Fouly, Daniel is a member of the Swiss ski team. On the World Cup circuit since 2013-2014, he took part in his first Olympic Games in Sochi thanks to a 7th place finish in the Kitzbühel slalom! With each season bringing better results, Daniel came close to a podium finish in the 2016-2017 season, when he finished tenth in the best slalom rankings. In a discipline where the competition is fierce, he reached the podium for the first time in Kitzbühel on 21 January 2018, a podium he repeated 2 days later in Schladming. In 2022, he took part in his third Olympic Games. After the 2022-2023 season, he had 17 podium finishes, including 8 victories (2 in team events).
Candide Pralong – Cross-country skiing
Originally from Somplaproz (Orsières), Candide lives in parallel in Fribourg, where he is studying. A member of the Rossignol gel Interim team since 2015, in 2017 he won the World Loppet Cup, the long-distance cross-country skiing World Cup. After a very good start to the 2017-2018 season, he qualified for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. He finished 12th in the World Cup in Val di Fiemme in 2021 and 7th in the relay at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022. He finished his 4th Tour de Ski in 2023 in an excellent 29th place!
Jules-Henri Gabioud – Trail
Originally from Orsières, Jules-Henri lives there as well as in La Fouly, his favorite resort. He is a ski teacher in the winter, and during the summer months he enjoys trail running in addition to his work as a mountain guide. With victories in the Tor des Géants (330 km) and the Trail Verbier St-Bernard (110 km), he regularly ranks among the best in this discipline. Knowing all the hiking trails and our summits by heart, he is also an excellent ambassador of our region!
Ludovic Lattion – Ski touring
Ludovic Lattion, also from Orsières, started out as an alpine skier before discovering athletics in 2009. For almost ten years, he was one of the best Swiss hopefuls in the 1’000m and 2’000m. He then started running and ski mountaineering in 2016. In 2022, he finished European vice-champion and Swiss champion in vertical U23. He started 8 international races with a first top 10 in scratch vertical.
Arnaud Tissières – Cycling
Arnaud Tissières, who was initially a Nordic skier and runner, won the Tour du Pays Roannais in 2022 and then decided to devote himself entirely to cycling from 2023. In June, he won the GP Gippingen elite race.
Fiona Ferrari – Shooting
Fiona Ferrari, who lives in Liddes, is a specialist in air pistol shooting (10 metres). She regularly finishes among the best in Valais (2nd in 2023) and Switzerland, with a tenth-place finish at the 2023 championships, for example.
