Weekend in St Bernard country and alpine flora

Weekend in St-Bernard country and alpine flora on August 17 and 18, 2024.

This hike will take us to Jardin botanique la Linnaea, founded in 1889 and acquired by the Société Académique de Genève in 1915. Currently maintained by the Conservatoire et Jardin botanique de Genève, la Linnaea is home to over 300 species of alpine flora, as well as a magnificent private chalet, where we’ll stay the night.

Itinerary:

Day 1: 9th stage of the “Via Francigena”, first on the left bank of the Dranse d’Entremont, then on the right bank of the torrent to Bourg-St-Pierre.

Day 2: bus from Bourg-St-Pierre to Liddes, then hike to La Douay along the “Chemin des villages et hameaux d’Entremont”.

Accommodation / meals :

Linnaea botanical garden chalet, in dormitories, sleeping bag compulsory. Meals to be defined.

Price:

CHF 70 incl. organization fee + train and bus tickets + meals

Equipment:

Sleeping bag compulsory, hiking boots, rucksack, sun and rain protection, poles.

The race takes place in all weathers.
