Grand-St-Bernard Pass

Bourg-St-Pierre
VISIT THE WEBSITE

Situated between Switzerland and Italy, and a route that has been used for millennia, the Pass is an essential place to visit in the Pays du St-Bernard region. A treasure in the heart of the mountain, the Grand-St-Bernard Hospice has brought peace and comfort to travellers for centuries.

You can also visit its famous museum with its archaeological objects, and stuffed animal, insect and mineral collections.

Helping the monks to rescue travellers, the St-Bernard dogs originate from the Grand-St-Bernard Hospice, 2500m above sea level. Strongly built and with gentle characters, they embody friendship and the welcoming tradition shared in this place. Barry is the most famous representative. Come and visit them at the kennels!
